• video what the children do in the forest, then watch back in the setting afterwards with them:
  • observe the impact of sessions, on the way back to setting, or later in the same day – children may engage in spontaneous singing, or their first writing, or show increased concentration on other activities

This boy spontaneously started making up his own song accompanied by his ukulele on the way back from the forest in the minibus, so I echoed what he sang:


  • note parent’s comments when they pick up on how much it means to their children to do the sessions
  • inform parents about the value of outdoor play and of regular time in the outdoors/forest
